Advanced Manufacturing Engineer – Body, Chassis & Powertrain (3-Month Contract)

About the role

Lotus UK Manufacturing is recruiting three experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineers for a 3-month fixed-term contract in its Body, Chassis and Powertrain departments, reporting to the Advanced Manufacturing & Industrial Engineering Manager. The engineers support a new vehicle programme, taking ownership of manufacturing processes from concept and development through equipment installation, vehicle builds and production readiness, working with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Production, Logistics, Facilities, Purchasing and external suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing concepts, process flows, assembly sequences and build strategies, and give DFMA input to product development
• Define manufacturing equipment, tooling and fixture requirements, and support supplier selection, technical reviews and make-versus-buy decisions
• Coordinate equipment design, manufacture, installation and commissioning, and integrate processes with Industrial Engineering teams
• Maintain PFMEAs and risk assessments, define critical process characteristics and support process validation and capability studies
• Support prototype, pilot, pre-production and production builds, resolve manufacturing issues and monitor deliverables against programme milestones

Required profile

• Automotive manufacturing engineering experience, supporting NPI or significant product changes
• Proven experience developing and implementing manufacturing processes and supporting prototype or production builds
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD data and technical specifications
• Strong problem-solving, root-cause analysis and stakeholder management skills

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Teamcenter (product data, engineering changes, manufacturing information)
• PfMEA and manufacturing risk management
• Desirable: body-in-white, chassis, powertrain and high-voltage manufacturing experience
