Advanced Practitioner – Adult Safeguarding (MASH)

About the role

Our client, Wirral MBC, is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the MASH Adult Safeguarding Team on a temporary full‑time basis. The role involves delivering high‑quality safeguarding practice, supporting investigations and ensuring compliance with legislation and best practice.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with key stakeholders at the start and throughout safeguarding enquiries, managing risk and decision‑making.
• Support the day‑to‑day operation of the team alongside another Advanced Practitioner, the Team Manager and Senior Manager.
• Provide professional supervision and advice to experienced social workers and a Care Navigator.
• Offer consultation to professionals on safeguarding thresholds, referrals, Section 42 enquiries and Mental Capacity Assessments.
• Assist duty workers with triaging referrals and reduce inappropriate referrals into the safeguarding team.
• Make timely onward referral decisions to appropriate agencies to improve service provision.

Required profile

• Demonstrated safeguarding experience within adult social care.
• Previous experience in an Advanced Practitioner or senior social work role.
• Enthusiastic, self‑motivated and able to work as a key team member.
• Commitment to delivering professional practice in line with legislation and policies.
