Advanced Practitioner – Children in Care (Temporary)

About the role

Coventry City Council is looking for an Advanced Practitioner to join its Children in Care team on a three‑month fixed‑term basis. The role supports children aged 0‑12 through court processes and the wider care pathway, ensuring their needs remain central to every decision.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive support to children in care, including adoption, fostering, and reunification processes.
• Undertake all statutory children‑in‑care duties, from interim care orders through to final court conclusions.
• Manage care orders, supervision orders, and child protection cases.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to keep children’s best interests at the forefront.

Required profile

• Qualified Social Worker, fully registered with Social Work England.
• Minimum three years post‑qualification experience within a local authority setting.
• Strong background in children’s social care and statutory duties.
• Demonstrated experience of court work related to children in care.
