Advanced Practitioner – Family Help (Social Work)

About the role

Our client, Liverpool City Council, is seeking an Advanced Practitioner to lead its Family Help team. You will supervise a group of Outreach Family Support workers, delivering high‑quality early help services to children and families across the city using a whole‑family, strength‑based approach.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support Outreach Family Support workers delivering outreach and home‑based early help.
• Promote a child‑centred, inclusive practice within the team.
• Provide reflective case supervision that drives positive outcomes for children and young people.
• Develop and maintain multi‑agency partnerships to achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Use a whole‑family approach to assess and meet the needs of families.

Required profile

• Qualified social worker with experience in family support or early help.
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team of practitioners.
• Strong reflective practice and commitment to safeguarding.
• Willingness to register with Remedy for locum positions and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
