Aeronautical Engineering Lecturer

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Aeronautical Engineering Lecturer to join our Engineering department at Shoreham Airport Campus. The role involves delivering high‑quality teaching across Aeronautical Engineering programmes, blending theory with practical application to prepare learners for careers in aerospace and aviation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons for Level 3, HNC, HND and higher‑education programmes.
• Conduct classroom‑based and hands‑on practical sessions.
• Assess learner work, provide constructive feedback and monitor progress.
• Develop learning resources and maintain accurate assessment records.
• Ensure teaching aligns with awarding body specifications and industry standards.
• Promote safe working practices in labs and workshops.
• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with aerospace employers to enhance employability and work‑based learning opportunities.

Required profile

• A degree or higher qualification in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Relevant industry experience within the aerospace or aviation engineering sector.
• A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent) or willingness to obtain one.
• Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire learners from diverse backgrounds.
