After School Club Assistant – Primary School (London)

About the role

This position supports an outstanding primary school in Lewisham by delivering a safe, engaging, and inclusive after‑school club for pupils aged 4‑11. You will work Monday to Friday from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm, creating a high‑quality play and learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver fun, age‑appropriate activities throughout the week.
• Provide physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for all children, including those with special needs.
• Assist pupils with evening meals or snacks.
• Work collaboratively with other after‑school staff and build strong relationships with pupils and their families.
• Safely chaperone children when they are collected by parents or carers.
• Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an after‑school setting, teaching assistant role, or nursery environment.
• Ability to create a caring, safe, and stimulating environment.
• Strong communication skills with children, parents, and staff.
• Legal right to work in the UK and willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
