Afternoons Only Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work afternoons and support after‑school club sessions at a friendly primary school in Great Eccleston. The role starts in September 2026 and runs at least until the October half‑term, covering five afternoons per week plus two club sessions ending at 5:30 pm. The assistant will work closely with classroom teachers, providing one‑to‑one and small‑group support, and will help organise and run the after‑school club activities, ensuring a fun and safe environment for pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning throughout the afternoon.
• Work with individuals and small groups to enhance learning outcomes.
• Help maintain a safe, positive and engaging classroom environment.
• Assist with planning and delivery of after‑school activities.
• Supervise pupils attending after‑school club sessions.

Required profile

• Experience supporting children in a school or childcare setting.
• Enthusiastic and proactive approach to pupil engagement.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Flexibility to support after‑school provision until 5:30 pm on designated days.
• Relevant TA qualification desirable but not essential.
