Agricultural & Rural Property Solicitor (1+ PQE)

About the role

This position joins an established Agricultural and Rural Land team in Berkshire, offering a blend of collaborative projects and independent case management for solicitors with 1+ years post‑qualification experience.

Key responsibilities

• Handle farm sales and purchases, including due diligence and conveyancing.
• Advise on agricultural tenancies, easements, wayleaves and other commercial land arrangements.
• Provide counsel on diversification projects such as residential development, renewable energy, forestry, carbon‑offset schemes and biodiversity net‑gain initiatives.
• Draft and negotiate contracts, licences and other legal documents related to rural property transactions.
• Maintain client relationships across the agricultural sector, delivering commercially focused advice.

Required profile

• Qualified solicitor with at least 1 year of post‑qualification experience (PQE 1+).
• Strong interest in agricultural and rural property law.
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
• Commercially minded with a focus on delivering high‑quality client service.

Required skills

• Legal research and analysis in land and property law.
• Drafting and negotiating complex property agreements.
• Understanding of agricultural tenancies and related commercial arrangements.
