AI Engineer Apprentice

About the role

Join Hyperfinity as an AI Engineer Apprentice and help build intelligent features for retail‑focused software while creating internal AI tools that boost team productivity. You will study the Level 4 AI & Automation apprenticeship alongside real‑world projects, gaining hands‑on experience in a fast‑growing AI environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist senior engineers and data scientists in designing, building and testing AI‑driven features.
• Develop internal AI tools and automation scripts to improve workflow efficiency.
• Experiment with prompt engineering and model selection for various use cases.
• Integrate AI components with existing systems and APIs.
• Document testing results, create user guides and continuously refine solutions.

Required profile

• Level 3 qualification (A‑levels, BTEC, apprenticeship) or equivalent experience.
• 5 GCSEs (or equivalents) including English and Maths at grade 4/C or higher.
• Strong curiosity about AI, problem‑solving mindset and enthusiasm for learning.
• Either a recent graduate or someone retraining from another field.

Required skills

• Familiarity with AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot or Gemini.
• Basic coding or scripting experience, preferably Python.
• Experience with low‑code/no‑code automation platforms like Power Automate or Zapier.
• Comfort working with data, spreadsheets and simple automation workflows.
