AI Engineer

About the role

The AI Engineer will join a fast‑growing sports media organisation to design and deliver generative AI solutions that improve operational efficiency, audience engagement and commercial value. Working on a hybrid schedule (three days onsite in London), you will collaborate closely with senior stakeholders and product teams.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders and technical teams to translate requirements into practical AI use cases.
• Design, develop and deploy generative AI applications such as AI assistants, intelligent search, content automation tools and Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) platforms.
• Build and maintain scalable AI workflows, integrating with internal systems, APIs and cloud environments.
• Create proof‑of‑concepts, iterate rapidly and balance innovation with business timelines.
• Implement prompt engineering, model evaluation, testing and monitoring frameworks to ensure reliable outputs.
• Work with structured and unstructured datasets to support AI and machine‑learning initiatives.
• Establish best practices for AI development, deployment, governance and ongoing optimisation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AI applications, data pipelines and production environments.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering AI and machine‑learning solutions in SMEs, start‑ups or scale‑ups.
• Strong track record of working directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver measurable outcomes.
• Commercial experience developing and deploying generative AI solutions using large language models (LLMs) such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini.
• Hands‑on experience integrating AI solutions into existing business systems and workflows.
• Ability to operate in a lean environment, taking ownership of projects from concept to production.
