AI Engineer Tutor (Volunteer)

About the role

The AI Engineer Tutor will volunteer technical expertise to help learners understand, build, and apply AI systems. You will support practical training sessions, guide project work, and translate complex concepts into real‑world capability.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver hands‑on AI engineering sessions covering Python, ML fundamentals, LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, workflows, and MLOps.
• Adapt explanations and activities to learners' experience levels and provide live coding, labs, and project mentorship.
• Develop or contribute learning materials such as slides, notebooks, datasets, and project briefs.
• Offer code review, debugging support, and technical guidance while encouraging sound engineering practices.
• Collaborate with Ziti Foundation programme teams, share learner feedback, and represent the organisation professionally.

Required profile

• Strong practical experience as an AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or Software Engineer with AI focus.
• Proven ability to deliver technical training or mentorship in professional or educational settings.
• Excellent communication, patient learner‑centric attitude, and reliable, organised work style.

Required skills

• Python programming.
• ML frameworks such as scikit‑learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow.
• LLM tooling (LangChain, LangGraph, OpenAI, Anthropic, open‑source models).
• Vector databases, API integration, Git.
• Experience with RAG systems, agentic workflows, fine‑tuning, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms.
