Air Conditioning Engineer - Maintenance (No weekend work)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join a well‑run SME in West London. The role focuses on maintenance and repair of air‑conditioning systems that use F‑gas refrigerants, with no weekend work required.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and service a variety of air‑conditioning and heat‑pump systems.
• Recover, handle and supply equipment containing F‑gas refrigerants in line with regulations.
• Perform leak detection on stationary refrigeration, air‑conditioning and heat‑pump equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults on split, multi‑split, VRV/VRF, packaged units, AHUs and associated ventilation equipment.
• Install new air‑conditioning systems to manufacturer specifications and commission them.
• Carry out refrigerant recovery, leak detection and recharging in accordance with F‑Gas regulations.
• Replace compressors, fans, motors, expansion valves, PCB boards and other mechanical/electrical components.
• Respond to emergency reactive call‑outs within agreed response times.
• Perform electrical fault‑finding on HVAC equipment.
• Complete accurate maintenance records, service sheets and commissioning documentation.
• Produce clear reports identifying defects and recommended remedial work.
• Liaise professionally with customers, clients and site representatives.
• Maintain company vehicles, tools and specialist equipment in clean, serviceable condition.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.

Required profile

• F‑gas qualification and certification.
• Level 2 award in F‑Gas and ODS Regulations – Category I.
• NVQ Diploma in Installing, Testing and Maintaining Air‑Conditioning and Heat‑Pump Systems.

Required skills

• F‑gas handling, leak detection and refrigerant recovery.
• Commissioning of new air‑conditioning equipment.
• Electrical fault‑finding on HVAC systems.
• Replacement of compressors, fans, motors, expansion valves and PCB boards.
• Knowledge of split, multi‑split, VRV/VRF, packaged units, AHUs and ventilation equipment.
