Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineer to join a well‑established family‑run business serving independent commercial clients across the South West. You will primarily work on-site, delivering maintenance, service and repairs for a variety of cooling systems.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, service and repairs on commercial air‑conditioning units (approximately 65‑70% of the time).
• Work on splits, multi‑splits, VRV/VRF systems, AHUs, DX coils, counter‑fridges, walk‑in fridges and freezers, and panel chillers.
• Travel within a 40‑50 mile radius of Swindon to serve clients such as care homes, hotels, pubs and colleges.
• Maintain accurate service records and adhere to health and safety standards.

Required profile

• Live within the Bristol‑Swindon‑Oxford‑Gloucester corridor, preferably north of Swindon.
• Proven experience as an air‑conditioning and refrigeration engineer.
• Hold a valid F‑Gas certification.
• Possess NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air‑Conditioning.

Required skills

• Knowledge of splits, multi‑splits, VRV/VRF, AHU, DX coil systems.
• Experience with commercial refrigeration equipment (counter, walk‑in, panel chillers).
• Ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of HVAC components.
• F‑Gas certification and NVQ Level 2 HVAC qualification.
