Air Export Operator – Perishables (Night Shift)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Air Export Operator to manage time‑critical perishables shipments on our night shift at Heathrow. You will coordinate the full export process, from booking to delivery, ensuring high levels of customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Manage end‑to‑end coordination of air export perishables shipments.
• Process and prepare export documentation, including Air Waybills and shipment paperwork.
• Make airline bookings and coordinate shipment movements.
• Arrange collections and deliveries with customers, warehouses and suppliers.
• Complete customs entries where required.
• Handle invoicing activities where applicable.
• Maintain accurate shipment records across operational systems.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, airlines and third‑party suppliers.
• Ensure consistently high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with internal teams to meet deadlines and operational requirements.
• Support improvements to processes, systems and the customer experience.

Required profile

• Previous experience in air freight exports (essential).
• Perishables handling experience is highly advantageous.
• Strong understanding of air freight processes and export documentation.
• Excellent communication skills with customers and suppliers.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational abilities.
• Ability to manage time‑sensitive shipments and meet strict deadlines.
• Computer literate with experience using operational systems.
• Interest in technology, systems and AI is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
