Air Hygiene & Fire Damper Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Air Hygiene & Fire Damper Engineer to join Concept Environmental’s specialist delivery team. The role involves delivering high‑quality air hygiene, ventilation cleaning and fire‑damper services across a variety of commercial and domestic client sites.

Key responsibilities

• Perform ventilation cleaning (TR19), fire‑damper testing, air‑quality assessments and remedial works on client premises.
• Carry out inspections, servicing, analytical surveys and testing in line with industry standards and company procedures.
• Produce accurate reports, documentation and electronic records within agreed timescales.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Operate equipment, PPE, chemicals and access systems safely, including work at height and occasional overnight stays.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with clients, colleagues and stakeholders, delivering excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in air‑hygiene and fire‑damper services.
• Proven ability to carry out inspections, servicing, testing and remedial works in commercial or domestic environments.
• Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and compliance requirements.
• Competent use of computers, PDAs and Microsoft Office for reporting.

Required skills

• Ventilation cleaning (TR19) and fire‑damper testing.
• Air‑quality assessment techniques.
• Familiarity with BS 9999, RRFSO 2005, TR19, BESA, AHO/AHT and NAADUK standards.
• Safe operation of PPE, chemicals, access systems and work‑at‑height equipment.
• Proficiency with computers, PDAs and Microsoft Office applications.
