Air Import Clerk – Heathrow Freight Forwarder

About the role

Right Now Group is seeking an experienced Air Import Clerk to join a leading freight forwarder operating from Heathrow’s Polar Park. The role involves managing air import files, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing the import function as it moves in‑house.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and complete import files to required company standards.
• Monitor and act on import‑related emails promptly.
• Handle import entries, issue quotations and take bookings directly with customers.
• Produce collection and delivery notes.
• Liaise daily with customers, warehouses and customs officials to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage Enhanced Remote Transit Shed (ERTS) processes.
• Calculate and charge storage costs accurately.
• Oversee charging and costing of import jobs.
• Provide support, guidance and training to colleagues on import processes.

Required profile

• Minimum 2‑3 years of air import experience.
• Ability to handle quotations, bookings and full import processes independently.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Proactive, self‑motivated and capable of mentoring others.

Required skills

• Sequoia system (desirable)
• NCTS system (desirable)

What we offer

• Salary £35,000‑£40,000 per annum (depending on experience).
• Monday‑Friday shift, 09:00‑17:30.
