Air Operations Coordinator

About the role

The Air Operations Coordinator will join a busy General Cargo team at a global freight forwarding business based at Heathrow. You will coordinate international air freight shipments, acting as the central point of contact between customers, airlines, overseas agents and internal departments.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate air freight shipments from booking to final delivery, handling either imports or exports with cross‑training provided.
• Prepare and process shipping documentation such as MAWBs, HAWBs, customs paperwork and commercial invoices.
• Book freight with airlines, monitor progress and provide proactive shipment updates to customers.
• Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and company procedures.
• Complete job costing, invoicing and maintain accurate operational records.
• Support the wider Air Freight department during peak periods and deliver excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Previous experience in air freight imports or exports.
• Good understanding of international air freight operations and documentation.
• Strong organisational ability and capacity to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Ability to pass a basic DBS check and provide a 5‑year checkable employment history.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

What we offer

• Salary between £32,000 and £38,000 per year, dependent on experience.
• Monday‑to‑Friday working hours (09:00‑17:30).
• Quarterly performance bonus ranging from £1,000 to £2,500.
• Full training across both import and export functions.
