Air Terminal Manager - Diego Garcia

About the role

Amentum is seeking an Air Terminal Manager to support a government contract on the island of Diego Garcia. The manager oversees all port services related to air terminal operations, ensures compliance with the Performance Work Statement and the Amentum ISO 9001 quality system, and is available 24/7 to meet with government personnel and program leadership within 30 minutes.

Key responsibilities

• Obtain aircraft flight schedules, determine cargo capabilities and load information, and process and manifest passengers
• Handle baggage, load and offload aircraft, and complete security checks of passengers and baggage
• Ensure hazardous materials are inspected, documented and certified, and prepare cargo in line with regulations and technical orders
• Implement, document and control quality, training, environment and safety programs
• Maintain publications, forms and files for personnel and freight, and compile data and reports
• Use air terminal computer applications such as GATES and Microsoft products
• Oversee personnel scheduling, work supervision and quality control, and assist with recruiting and HR support
• Monitor cost control, financial reports, budgeting and operating costs

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business Administration/Management or Engineering, from a U.S. or U.K. accredited institution or equivalent
• Knowledge of DoD, FAA, NATOPS, UFC, ICAO and other applicable laws, Navy regulations and airfield security and safety requirements
• 10 years as a principal supervisor in an air terminal, managing a workforce on contracts of similar size and complexity
• Experience in a multi-function base operations environment and three years of supervisory experience in an austere OCONUS setting with a multi-national workforce
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US passport and driver's license, a Secret US Government clearance (US citizenship required), and the necessary visas and medical clearance

Required skills

• Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office
• Experience with Air Terminal operations applications, specifically GATES
• Material handling equipment operation as needed
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
