Aircraft Mechanical Technician – RAF Valley

About the role

The role supports depth maintenance of Hawk aircraft at RAF Valley, a key site for the UK's fast‑jet pilot training programme. You will join a highly skilled engineering team in a safety‑critical environment, developing hands‑on expertise across aircraft systems.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and rectify faults on aircraft systems, components and assemblies.
• Carry out depth maintenance, inspections, repairs and modification activities.
• Perform functional and system testing in line with approved procedures.
• Work to maintenance documentation and technical data, ensuring compliance with tooling, calibration and test‑equipment control procedures.
• Support maintenance delivery to meet operational and programme requirements.
• Escalate technical or maintenance issues where appropriate.
• Maintain high standards of safety, workmanship and regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Previous practical engineering or aircraft maintenance experience.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a regulated, safety‑critical environment.
• Confidence using Microsoft systems for maintenance reporting and record management.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
