Airfreight Manager – Heathrow

About the role

The Airfreight Manager will lead the design, implementation and optimisation of the Group’s global airfreight network from Heathrow. You will combine strategic network planning with day‑to‑day operational decisions to ensure cost‑effective, reliable air cargo services across key trade lanes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and continuously optimise the global airfreight network, selecting efficient airline port pairs and line‑haul strategies.
• Manage airline products, evaluate performance, and maintain preferred carrier programmes and incentives.
• Negotiate and administer BSA agreements and non‑BSA capacity contracts, ensuring compliance with KPIs.
• Oversee utilisation of purchased capacity and ULD allocation, rotation and reconciliation.
• Make daily routing and airline allocation decisions based on cost, service levels, transit times and margin protection.
• Lead commercial negotiations with airlines and strategic partners to secure competitive rates and improve gross margin.

Required profile

• Proven experience in airfreight network or cargo operations management.
• Strong commercial negotiation and relationship‑building skills with airlines and partners.
• Ability to analyse performance data and adjust routing strategies accordingly.
