Ambient Manager

About the role

As an Ambient Manager you will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the Ambient department in our Sunderland superstore. You will ensure high product availability, maintain shop‑floor standards and keep the store safe and compliant for customers and colleagues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute trading activity on the shop floor, meeting availability targets and key performance indicators.
• Lead the shrink agenda, monitoring waste and loss and implementing corrective actions.
• Drive promotional set‑up and ensure products are correctly displayed and priced.
• Coach and develop the Ambient team, fostering a culture of excellent customer service.
• Maintain health, safety and legal standards across the department.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Team Leader or Supervisor in a retail environment.
• Operational knowledge of food or non‑food departments.
• Proven ability to improve availability, reduce waste and manage shrink.
• Strong organisational skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
