Ambulatory Care Staff Nurse

About the role

This permanent Band 5 position is part of a newly created Ambulatory Care Unit delivering systemic anti‑cancer treatment (SACT) and specialist cancer care for oncology, haematology and bone‑marrow transplant patients. The service operates seven days a week, providing high‑quality treatment while allowing patients to maintain normal daily activities.

Key responsibilities

• Administer SACT for oncology, haematology and BMT patients in an ambulatory setting.
• Use the Mosaiq booking system efficiently to schedule and manage patient appointments.
• Collaborate with senior nurses, supervisory sister, advanced practitioners, medical, pharmacy and allied health professionals to ensure seamless, patient‑centred care.
• Identify and escalate patients who become unwell during their visit and coordinate appropriate interventions.
• Liaise with pathway navigators regarding inpatient bed requirements.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse qualified to practice in the UK.
• Motivated, enthusiastic and able to work within a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts covering 08:00‑20:00, seven days a week.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Mosaiq booking system.
