Amendments Officer – Cancer Clinical Trials

About the role

The Cancer Research Delivery Group at Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking an Amendments Officer to support the coordination and implementation of amendments across its portfolio of cancer clinical trials. Working as an independent practitioner within a multidisciplinary team, you will ensure that all trial modifications comply with national regulations and are efficiently communicated to sponsors and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and process study amendments for cancer trials in line with UK regulatory requirements.
• Maintain up‑to‑date tracking of amendment activities using Excel‑based trackers and the EDGE database system.
• Collaborate closely with supporting departments, including data management, pharmacy, and clinical teams.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors and internal teams regarding amendment status and documentation.
• Coordinate the implementation of approved amendments across trial sites.

Required profile

• Experience working within clinical research, preferably on cancer trial protocols.
• Strong understanding of UK clinical trial regulations and amendment processes.
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking.
• Familiarity with the EDGE database system or similar clinical trial management tools.
