Analytics Engineering Manager (GCP)

About the role

The company is building a modern data platform to power product, commercial and operational decisions. As an Analytics Engineering Manager you will lead a small, high‑impact team while staying hands‑on with modelling, architecture and platform direction, bridging Data Engineering, Product Analytics and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of Analytics Engineers, establishing best practices for modelling, testing, documentation and delivery.
• Own the semantic layer, creating and maintaining trusted business definitions and scalable dbt models.
• Enable self‑serve analytics for Product, Growth, Finance and Operations teams.
• Partner with Data Engineering to improve platform scalability, governance, observability and performance on a GCP‑native stack.
• Contribute directly to SQL/dbt development, model reviews and architecture decisions.
• Establish testing, lineage, monitoring and documentation standards to improve data quality.
• Translate commercial and product requirements into scalable analytics solutions.
• Deliver reliable datasets and metrics that support growth, experimentation, forecasting and operational decision‑making.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading or mentoring Analytics Engineers or similar modern data teams.
• Strong hands‑on expertise with BigQuery, dbt, SQL and Looker in GCP environments.
• Deep understanding of data modelling, ELT workflows, metric governance and data‑quality frameworks.
• Experience building self‑serve analytics and partnering with product, commercial or operational stakeholders in fast‑moving settings.
• Ability to balance strategic leadership with direct technical contribution.
