Android Developer (Hybrid – Glasgow)

About the role

CGI is looking for a talented Android Developer to join its growing mobile engineering team. You will design, develop and maintain high‑performance native Android applications while collaborating with product managers, designers, QA specialists and fellow developers. The role is hybrid, with one day per week on‑site in Glasgow and occasional in‑person meetings.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop native Android apps using Kotlin and/or Java.
• Collaborate with UI/UX teams to create responsive, user‑centric interfaces.
• Integrate and optimise RESTful APIs and third‑party services.
• Maintain, improve and update existing Android applications.
• Conduct code reviews and uphold high code‑quality standards within Agile teams.
• Troubleshoot bugs, performance issues and compatibility problems across Android devices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in native Android development with Kotlin and/or Java.
• Strong understanding of Android UI/UX principles and responsive design.
• Experience integrating RESTful APIs and using third‑party libraries.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting and automated testing skills.
• Knowledge of Android SDKs, Git version control and publishing apps on Google Play Store.
