Android Developer (Hybrid, Glasgow)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Android Developer to join our client’s team in Glasgow on a hybrid basis (one day on‑site per week). You will design, develop and maintain high‑quality mobile applications that support enterprise‑scale digital transformation initiatives, working in an Agile environment alongside cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new features and maintain existing functionality for Android applications.
• Collaborate with product owners, designers and backend engineers to deliver user‑focused solutions.
• Write clean, testable Kotlin code following MVVM architecture.
• Integrate RESTful APIs using Retrofit and manage asynchronous tasks with Coroutines.
• Participate in code reviews, debugging and performance optimisation.
• Support the Google Play release process and maintain CI/CD pipelines.

Required profile

• Proven commercial experience in Android development.
• Strong knowledge of Kotlin and Java.
• Hands‑on experience with MVVM, Jetpack Compose and Android Jetpack libraries such as LiveData and Navigation Component.
• Familiarity with Git, Gradle and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
