Animal Management Lecturer – Coleg Glynllifon

About the role

The Animal Management Lecturer will lead the Animal Care department at Coleg Glynllifon, delivering full‑time courses (Levels 1‑3) and supporting apprenticeships. The role combines teaching, curriculum development, and pastoral care for students pursuing careers in animal husbandry, care, recreation, protection, or related industries.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging lectures and practical sessions covering companion, exotic, bird, aquatic, and commercial farm animals.
• Coordinate practical instruction with industry instructors to reinforce classroom learning.
• Ensure Welsh Baccalaureate qualifications are consistently delivered across the programme.
• Maintain academic standards set by the examining board and monitor student progress.
• Provide pastoral support and act as a course leader for assigned student cohorts.

Required profile

• Relevant qualifications and experience in animal management, animal science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to teach at Level 1‑3 and deliver Welsh Baccalaureate content.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to work with industry partners.
• Commitment to student welfare and academic excellence.

What we offer

• Salary range £33,595 – £51,931 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.
• 46 days annual leave plus public holidays and efficiency closure days.
• Full‑time permanent contract with Teachers Pension Scheme.
• 37‑hour work week with up to 5 hours off‑site work per week.
