AOG Operator – Freight Forwarding (Heathrow)

About the role

We are seeking an AOG Operator to join an expanding freight forwarding company located near Heathrow. The role involves managing air‑cargo AOG (Aircraft on Ground) updates, handling export documentation and providing proactive customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor generic email boxes and respond promptly to AOG related queries.
• Arrange collection and delivery of shipments with vendors.
• Produce shipping documentation, including MAWBs and HAWBs.
• Prepare export and import entries in line with UK HMRC regulations.
• Execute post‑flight procedures and job‑file invoicing.
• Control costs and process pending trays daily.
• Track live AOG updates and propose alternative solutions.
• Investigate and resolve customer and supplier complaints swiftly.
• Ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing and pass rates to the Team Leader.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of air freight operations and documentation (MAWB/HAWB).
• Understanding of UK HMRC export regulations.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Proactive problem‑solving and customer‑service mindset.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Experience handling AOG and time‑critical shipments.
• Full five‑year referenceable history and DBS clearance.

• Competitive salary of £35,000‑£40,000 per year.
