Application Support Engineer & Developer

About the role

Our client, a leading medical imaging and clinical research organisation, is seeking an Application Support Engineer / Developer to join a growing technology team. The role blends platform support for legacy and cloud‑based clinical imaging systems with hands‑on software development, ensuring reliability while delivering new functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Provide end‑to‑end support for both legacy and modern clinical imaging platforms, managing and prioritising technical requests.
• Troubleshoot complex application and infrastructure issues across multiple environments.
• Develop and maintain scripts for platform configuration and data management.
• Contribute to feature development for legacy and cloud‑based applications.
• Identify and implement improvements to workflows, processes and system performance.
• Collaborate with development, testing and internal teams to interpret and implement technical requirements.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation and support the evolution of development standards.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Strong experience working in Linux/Unix environments.
• Proven scripting ability using Bash and/or Python.
• Experience with SQL databases and understanding of object‑oriented concepts.
