Application Testing Analyst

About the role

Norton Rose Fulbright is looking for a Testing Analyst to join its EMEA Finance Systems team, which supports the core EMEA finance system (Aderant Sierra) covering time, billing, expenses, vendors, tax and reporting. The role ensures the quality of the firm's finance systems through QA and testing of financial management software, practice management systems and their integrations. It is based in Newcastle upon Tyne and offers a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, design and run manual functional testing, SIT, technical testing, regression testing and end-to-end testing for customisations, new modules, patches and upgrades
• Support user teams with User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Identify, document, track and resolve bugs and faults
• Produce and maintain testing documentation: plans, test scripts, test cases and summary reports
• Provide quality assurance throughout the development lifecycle and document test cycle results
• Collaborate with third-party providers and IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues
• Help the Product Owner and application analysts turn business requirements into technical solutions and spot improvements

Required profile

• Ideally a degree in computer science or software engineering, or a professional testing qualification such as CAST, CMST or CSTP, and 5+ years in similar roles
• Experience testing finance practice management systems (FPMS) and/or finance operations
• Experience in a law firm or other professional services environment
• Familiarity with core finance processes (general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, forecasting, reporting) is ideal
• Ability to communicate with stakeholders across IT, finance operations and third-party providers
• Discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality; willingness to upskill and take on extra responsibilities
