Applications 3rd Line Team Lead

About the role

We are seeking an Applications 3rd Line Team Lead to oversee the reliability, performance and security of Kaplan Professional UK’s critical web and database applications across multi‑cloud environments. The role combines hands‑on technical expertise with leadership of a small team of 3rd‑line Application Engineers, driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop a team of 3rd‑line Application Engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Ensure high availability, performance and security of web applications and databases in multi‑cloud settings.
• Manage incidents, problems and changes in line with ITIL best practices, driving root‑cause analysis and preventive actions.
• Drive adoption of modern tooling and AI‑enhanced processes to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement scalable solutions.
