Applications Operations Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an Applications Operations Engineer to join a government client in Exeter on a 12‑month contract. The role focuses on configuring and maintaining products on the Vortex platform, supporting onboarding, and ensuring smooth operation of services.

Key responsibilities

• Configure products on the Vortex platform using Handlebars.js, Mustache.js and Typst.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Service Delivery Managers to support product onboarding and re‑configuration.
• Manage changes, incidents and problems through ServiceNow.
• Participate in testing, verification and feedback for Vortex development releases.
• Maintain secure configurations, implement change requests and follow change control procedures.
• Identify process inefficiencies, log incidents and own issue resolution until closure.
• Support routine maintenance, administration tasks and technical activities.

Required profile

• Ability to work within a multi‑disciplinary team and follow supervision guidelines.
• Strong analytical mindset to investigate system, process and service problems.
• Willingness to engage with stakeholders to gather user requirements and support research activities.
