About the role

Join the Army as an Apprentice Chef and receive a salary of £27,989 per year while training to deliver world‑class catering. You will work across fine dining, state banquets, humanitarian aid and disaster relief, gaining qualifications up to degree level.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals for a range of events, from fine dining to emergency relief.
• Support a specialist culinary team that fuels soldiers on missions.
• Maintain the highest food safety, hygiene and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Achieve culinary excellence in challenging environments.
• Progress through formal qualifications in food, hygiene and health & safety.

Required profile

• Age between 16 years 6 months and 35 years 6 months.
• Pass a basic fitness test.
• No prior culinary experience required – full training provided.

• Starting salary of £27,989 per year, with potential to reach £40,989 as a Corporal within 5 years.
