Apprentice Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer

About the role

Join Bosch Rexroth’s Glenrothes plant as an Apprentice Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will develop hands‑on expertise across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems while supporting the production of radial piston motors for global OEMs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes and automated systems.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults to minimise downtime.
• Support fault‑finding and repair of electrical control circuits, motor control systems (VSDs, Direct Online Starters), PLCs, sensors and instrumentation.
• Work on mechanical power‑transmission components such as bearings, seals, couplings, pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Follow health‑and‑safety procedures, including Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out.
• Assist with installation, testing and commissioning of new equipment.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement projects and maintain accurate maintenance logs.
• Use hand tools, power tools and diagnostic equipment safely.

Required profile

• General hands‑on mechanical experience.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Logical problem‑solving approach.
• Effective verbal and written communication at all organisational levels.
• Commitment to college coursework and workplace training.

• Mechanical maintenance techniques.
