Arborist Apprentice

About the role

Liberty Group is seeking a motivated Arborist Apprentice to join its team in Little Hulton for a 24‑month fixed‑term apprenticeship. You will receive on‑the‑job training while working towards a recognised arboriculture qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Attend training sessions and work toward a craft qualification in arboriculture.
• Carry out scheduled tree maintenance and seasonal arboricultural work.
• Operate tools, machinery and vehicles safely on site.
• Maintain clean and safe work sites, obtaining tenant signatures after jobs.
• Communicate with clients to arrange and complete work.
• Record work details, materials used and complete required paperwork.
• Follow health and safety procedures and report hazards.
• Support colleagues and collaborate across the business.

Required profile

• Genuine interest in a career as an arborist.
• For 16‑18 year olds: Level 4 English & Maths (C grade or functional skills level 2).
• For 19+ year olds: Level 2 English & Maths (C grade or functional skills level 2).
• Positive attitude towards training, flexible schedules and varied work.
• Excellent customer service, punctuality and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Tool operation (chainsaws, climbing equipment, etc.).
• Record keeping of work activities and materials.
• Health & safety compliance.
