Architect – Design Development (London)

About the role

Woolpert is seeking an Architect to support the design development of complex projects in London. Working under the supervision of the Project Lead, you will contribute to the creation of design packages, specifications, and construction documents while collaborating closely with consultants and statutory authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with the Project Lead and design team to develop scheme concepts and produce interim design updates.
• Prepare new designs, adapt existing drawings, specifications and schedules to meet project requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, statutory bodies and clients to ensure design compliance and obtain approvals.
• Produce scale drawings, contract documents and assist with on‑site observation to monitor specification compliance.
• Support the design team in BIM coordination and contribute technical solutions to design challenges.

Required profile

• BA/BSc/BArch (essential) and MArch (essential); registration with ARB/RIBA is desirable.
• Minimum 4 years of architectural experience, preferably on complex projects such as data centres, healthcare or mixed‑use developments.
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, with strong organisational and communication skills.

Required skills

• Office 365 suite (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook).
• Revit/BIM 360 fundamentals and BIM Level 2 environment.
• AutoCAD, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, NBS and 3D visualisation tools.
