Architect - Heritage and Conservation Practice

About the role

Locri is recruiting an experienced Architect for an established architectural practice in Cambridge, known for architecture, heritage and conservation work across cultural, public, education, residential and commercial projects. The practice is looking for someone who can contribute to both the creative and technical delivery of projects, and would also consider an Architectural Technologist or Technician with a strong technical background.

Key responsibilities

• Lead projects or key work packages through the RIBA stages, working across Stages 3-7
• Develop creative design proposals and take projects through to technical delivery
• Prepare, develop and coordinate technical design packages
• Manage project programmes, deadlines and deliverables
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and external consultants
• Liaise with clients and project stakeholders
• Carry out technical design reviews and quality checks
• Support the financial and commercial delivery of projects
• Report to senior team members on progress and delivery, and mentor junior colleagues

Required profile

• 5+ years' post-qualification experience in a UK architectural practice
• ARB/RIBA qualification or equivalent; CIAT-qualified candidates also considered
• Proven experience across RIBA Stages 3-7 and managing projects or significant packages
• Experience coordinating consultants and multidisciplinary teams
• Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning requirements
• Heritage or conservation experience is advantageous but not essential
