Architect / Part 2 Architectural Assistant

About the role

Holmes Miller is seeking an Architect or Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join its St Albans studio immediately. You will work on a varied portfolio that includes carbon‑neutral schools, public building refurbishments, residential schemes and community centres, all driven by high‑quality, sustainable design.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and detailed drawings for a range of building types.
• Collaborate with senior architects and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet sustainability targets.
• Prepare and present design proposals to clients and stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of construction documentation and coordination sets.
• Support project delivery from initial brief through to construction administration.

Required profile

• Qualified Part 2 architectural assistant or architect with a strong interest in sustainable design.
• Ability to work effectively in a studio environment and meet project deadlines.
• Willingness to develop professionally towards Part 3 chartership.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
