Architect – Technical Design for Complex Projects

About the role

This position is based in Swindon and supports a regional contractor delivering technically complex projects across Berkshire, Wiltshire and Oxfordshire. The architect will lead design development for highly regulated environments such as life‑science labs, clean rooms and advanced manufacturing facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design development through all RIBA stages with a strong technical focus
• Produce detailed, construction‑ready drawings and documentation
• Collaborate with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and consultants to resolve design challenges
• Coordinate MEP‑intensive services and ensure compliance with building regulations and technical standards
• Support pre‑construction planning and technical coordination for on‑site delivery

Required profile

• Experience in delivering MEP‑heavy, controlled‑environment projects
• Comfort working in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary contractor environment
• Strong problem‑solving mindset and attention to buildability
