Architectural Technologist – Exeter

About the role

We are seeking an Architectural Technologist to join an award‑winning practice in Exeter. The role involves delivering detailed technical design across a variety of sectors such as healthcare, commercial, hospitality and leisure, while working within a supportive, family‑oriented environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed technical drawings and construction packages using Revit.
• Develop and coordinate design information across all RIBA work stages.
• Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, planning requirements and relevant legislation.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders throughout project delivery.
• Produce specifications, schedules and supporting technical documentation.
• Attend client meetings and site visits as required.
• Resolve technical and construction‑related queries during project delivery.
• Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy and attention to detail.

Required profile

• Degree or HNC/HND in Architectural Technology or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in a UK architectural practice.
• Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and construction detailing.
• Experience producing technical packages for planning and construction.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage workload effectively and meet project deadlines.
• Collaborative approach with confidence to work independently.
• CIAT membership or aspiration towards chartership is advantageous.
