Architectural Technologist

About the role

Pure Gym is seeking an Architectural Technologist to join its Group Property Development Team in Leeds. The role provides specialist technical support for both new and existing gym sites, helping to turn properties into functional fitness spaces. You will work closely with architects, surveyors and the wider development team to ensure projects meet technical, regulatory and commercial standards.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out desktop appraisals to assess site suitability for gym conversion.
• Conduct initial feasibility studies, risk assessments and environmental impact reviews.
• Identify legal issues and prepare documentation for planning and building control consents.
• Produce technical drawings, 3D visuals and models to support design and stakeholder understanding.
• Analyse architectural plans, flag potential risks and amend designs using CAD software.
• Specify appropriate technologies and advise on deviations from initial design plans.
• Assist the Senior Project Architect with detailed drawings for design manuals.

Required profile

• Experience in architectural technical support within property development.
• Ability to conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments.
• Familiarity with planning, building control and statutory consent processes.
• Strong attention to detail when reviewing and amending architectural drawings.
