Area Maintenance Fitter – East of England

About the role

Breedon Group is seeking an Area Maintenance Fitter to support its concrete plants across the East of England. You will be based at a primary site in Norwich and travel to surrounding locations to carry out breakdown repairs and preventative maintenance, using a company‑provided van.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance system for ready‑mix concrete plants.
• Carry out planned and unplanned maintenance to keep plants operating safely and reliably.
• Rapidly fault‑find and respond to plant shutdowns.
• Assist area management in scheduling maintenance aligned with production requirements.
• Coordinate repairs, manage spare‑part ordering and maintain defect logs.
• Undertake risk assessments and ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Liaise daily with plant operations and management to prioritise maintenance tasks.
• Supervise internal and third‑party personnel during maintenance activities.

Required profile

• Lives within an hour of Newmarket, Thetford, Norwich, Beccles or Flixton.
• Self‑motivated, flexible and comfortable with frequent travel between sites.
• Strong communication skills for telephone interaction with production teams.
• Commitment to the company’s zero‑harm health and safety culture.
