Area Manager – Large Format Retail

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee a portfolio of large‑format retail stores in the South East of England. You will have the autonomy to drive performance, shape the customer experience and develop store teams across your geographical patch.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high number of stores, ensuring strong financial performance and exceptional customer service.
• Set and monitor KPIs aligned with business objectives, including sales, profit & loss, and compliance.
• Manage budgets, sales forecasts and operational standards across the area.
• Build relationships with head‑office stakeholders and local partners, supporting marketing and events.
• Ensure health & safety compliance and adherence to company policies.

• Forward‑thinking, dynamic leadership style with an outgoing, upbeat personality.
• Proven ability to inspire and develop store managers and frontline teams.
• Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering memorable in‑store experiences.

Required skills

• Financial acumen – P&L management, budgeting and sales forecasting.
• Experience in retail operations, KPI tracking and compliance.
• Ability to create compelling visual merchandising and store environments.
