Area Nursery Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Nursery Manager to lead and support multiple nursery sites, ensuring high standards of care, education and operational performance. This senior leadership position will work closely with Nursery Managers to drive occupancy, budgets and compliance across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support and performance‑manage Nursery Managers and their teams.
• Ensure consistent compliance with EYFS, safeguarding and health & safety regulations.
• Drive occupancy, budgets and operational efficiency across settings.
• Maintain Ofsted readiness and deliver strong inspection outcomes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with staff, parents and external partners.
• Oversee recruitment, training and professional development across nurseries.
• Contribute to strategic growth and continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Proven leadership experience in early years as an area or regional manager.
• In‑depth knowledge of EYFS and Ofsted requirements.
• Strong organisational and financial management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and support managers and teams.
• Passionate about delivering high‑quality childcare and education.
• Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5/6 preferred).
• At least 5 years’ experience in nursery/childcare leadership, including multi‑site experience.
