Area Sales Engineer – Structural Steel

About the role

This position is a field‑based Area Sales Engineer role focused on structural steel solutions. You will manage a territory covering the Midlands and the North of England, building relationships with both new and existing clients for a leading manufacturer.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and grow a sales territory across the Midlands and the North of England.
• Develop existing accounts while generating new business opportunities.
• Visit clients to build long‑term relationships and understand their project needs.
• Prepare sales plans, quotations and maintain a healthy sales pipeline.
• Collaborate with estimating and technical teams to secure projects and deliver excellent customer service.

Required profile

• Proven experience as an Area Sales Manager or similar within the structural steel or related sector.
• Full UK driver’s licence.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.

Required skills

• Knowledge of structural steel products, fabrication processes and engineering applications.
