Area Sales Manager

About the role

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking a proactive, autonomous Area Sales Manager to drive growth of its compact and sustainable lifting solutions across the Midlands and South of the UK. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will focus on new‑business development while collaborating with account managers to deliver complete solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, prospect and acquire new customers in construction, heavy plant and lifting sectors.
• Maintain and update the CRM system with accurate prospect and pipeline data.
• Develop and execute a sales strategy for the product portfolio.
• Oversee all new‑business opportunities from initial contact to hand‑over or full delivery.
• Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and market shifts to inform tactics.

Required profile

• Experience selling or arranging hire of heavy construction equipment, cranes, scissor lifts, hoists or similar assets.
• Familiarity with decision‑maker networks within construction, mining, quarrying or related industries.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
• Ability to work independently in a field‑based role with occasional office visits.

What we offer

• Basic salary up to £55,000 per year.
• Uncapped commission/bonus (approximately £7,500 in year 1).
