Area Sales Manager – Paints & Coatings

About the role

The Area Sales Manager – Paints & Coatings will promote a high‑quality portfolio of paints and coatings for wood, metal and plastic finishes. You will work directly with end‑users, contractors and OEMs such as kitchen, joinery and furniture manufacturers, aiming for a turnover of around £1 million.

Key responsibilities

• Sell paints and coatings to end‑users, contractors and OEMs across the assigned geographic area.
• Manage existing accounts and generate new business opportunities.
• Achieve the annual turnover target of approximately £1 million.
• Maintain technical knowledge of product specifications and applications.
• Cover one of the four defined regions (Yorkshire & North East, Midlands, North West & Yorkshire, South West & South Wales).

Required profile

• Technical sales experience in the paints & coatings sector, or a paintshop manager moving to a field role.
• Proven track record selling to B2B end‑users and/or OEMs.
• Commercially astute with strong business acumen.
• IT literate.

Required skills

• Technical sales expertise in paints and coatings.
• Knowledge of finishes for wood, metal and plastic.
• IT literacy (basic computer and software use).
