Area Sales Manager – Scaffolding

About the role

The Area Sales Manager – Scaffolding will be based in Bristol and will cover the South West region, including Bristol, Bath, Weston‑Super‑Mare, Gloucester and Cheltenham. This is a field‑based sales position focused on selling scaffolding, fencing, groundworks, edge protection and safety‑access products to a range of construction contractors.

Key responsibilities

• Visit construction sites and client offices four days a week, making an average of eight calls per day.
• Sell scaffolding and related products to main contractors, civil engineers, ground workers, housebuilders and utility contractors.
• Achieve weekly targets of £400 in hire revenue and £20,000 in product sales.
• Develop new business from leads generated by the depot, LinkedIn and Glenigan.
• Work as part of a two‑person field sales team operating from the Bristol depot.
• Shadow an experienced Regional Sales Manager during the first 2‑3 months.

Required profile

• Proven experience in construction field sales, preferably selling to contractors.
• Existing contacts within main contractors, civil engineers, ground workers, housebuilders or utility firms are advantageous.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive and motivated with a resilient work ethic.
• Comfortable with frequent site visits and able to attend the Bristol depot one day per week.
• Strong communication skills and confidence when presenting to clients.
