Area Sales Manager – South West England

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager to lead sales across a network of branches in the South West of England. This field‑based position focuses on growing existing customer accounts, winning new business and collaborating closely with branch teams to achieve profitable growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and nurture long‑term relationships with trade customers and suppliers.
• Identify and secure new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
• Drive profitable sales growth and meet margin targets.
• Maintain an active sales pipeline and execute a structured customer call plan.
• Monitor local market activity, competitor trends and provide feedback to head office.
• Support branches with account management, pricing and credit control as needed.

Required profile

• Proven success in field sales, business development or account management.
• Experience in builders’ merchants, construction materials or a related trade environment.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation abilities.
• Track record of winning new business and expanding existing accounts.
• Excellent communication, organisation and relationship‑building skills.
• Self‑motivated, target‑driven attitude.
