Area Supervisor – Facilities Management

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Area Supervisor to lead the delivery and support of field‑based cleaning services for SBFM across West London. The role involves regular travel between sites such as Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush, Acton, Ealing and surrounding areas, ensuring high standards of service and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain service delivery standards and meet agreed KPIs.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships at local level.
• Conduct regular audits, resolve issues and ensure cleaning specifications are met.
• Line‑manage, induct and train frontline operatives.
• Support mobilisation of new contracts through site visits, inductions and training.
• Oversee health & safety compliance and ensure staff follow legislation and company policies.
• Perform stock checks and manage ordering of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Provide cover for other Area Supervisors and allocate workforce as needed.
• Maintain accurate IT records of visits, activities and communications.
• Collaborate with Regional Operations Managers, Account Managers and senior leadership.

Required profile

• Demonstrable experience in a similar supervisory role within facilities management or contract cleaning.
• IOSH Managing Safely qualification or willingness to complete training within three months.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive, detail‑oriented approach.
• Self‑motivated, able to work autonomously and motivate a team.
• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel across client sites in the UK.
